FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ALISON TAGLIAFERRI NAMED PSAC EAST CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MANSFIELD – Mansfield University sophomore standout Alison Tagliaferri (Linden/Jersey Shore) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Co-Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in the week ending 12/22/03.

Tagliaferri led the Mountaineers to a 1-1 week including the program’s first ever victory over IUP.

Tagliaferri recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win over IUP. She also dished out a career-high six assists. Over the two game span, Tagliaferri averaged 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.

For the season, Tagliaferri leads the Mountaineers, and ranks among the conference leaders, in scoring averaging 12.6 points per game. She is also averaging 6.6 rebounds and is second on the team in assists with 25. Tagliaferri also is first on the team steals (22) and second in blocked shots (12).

Mansfield is 5-8 on the season.
