FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES RALLY IN SECOND HALF TO DOWN LOCK HAVEN 78-69 – JESSICA PFEIFFER SCORES GAME HIGH 20 POINTS

LOCK HAVEN – Senior Jessica Pfeiffer scored 13 of her game high 20 points in the second half to lead the Mansfield University women’s basketball team to a 78-69 win over Lock Haven in a PSAC crossover contest at Thomas Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

Mansfield (6-8) broke open a close game midway through the first half building a 29-21 lead on a pair of free throws by Alison Tagliaferri with 5:20 to play in the half. But Lock Haven would go 17-4 run of the last five minutes to take a 38-33 lead into intermission.

Mansfield turned the ball over 15 times in the first half while Lock Haven held a 14-5 advantage on the offensive boards.

Lock Haven led 50-43 before the Mountaineers rallied to tie the game at 54-54 at the 10:02 mark. Mansfield then went on a 15-0 run behind Alison Tagliaferri, who scored nine of her 16 points over the run, to put the game out of reach taking a 71-56 lead with 5:15 to play.

Rachel Rieder had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds with Stephanie Rieser scoring 12 points.

Kristy Shadduck top Lock Haven (4-7) with 15 points.
