FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIE WOMEN ROLL IN 68-38 WIN OVER HOUGHTON – JESSICA PFEIFFER SCORES GAME HIGH 17 POINTS

MANSFIELD – Jessica Pfeiffer scored a game high 17 points and Tiffany Taylor added 10 to lead Mansfield to a 68-38 win over Houghton College in a non-conference game at Nielsen Center Tuesday night.

With the scored tied at 8-8 midway through the first half, the Mountaineers went on a 10-0 run taking an 18-8 lead with just under eight minutes remaining in the half.

Mansfield held a 32-18 lead at intermission and steadily increased it’s advantage in the second half.

The Mountaineers used all 13 players in the game with all but two scoring. Mansfield controlled the game inside and took just nine three-point shots after attempting 29 3-pointers in their last outing against Lycoming.

Melissa Isaman led Houghton with nine points.

The Mountaineers, who have played seven of their first nine games on the road, improve to 4-5 and will travel to Edinboro and Clarion this weekend for a pair of PSAC inter-divisional contests.
