FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIE WOMEN FALL AT EDINBORO 69-52 – TAGLIAFERRI SCORES A GAME HIGH 20 POINTS

EDINBORO – Alison Tagliaferri  led three player in double figures with a season high 20 points, but it would not be enough as the Mansfield University women’s basketball team fell to Edinboro 69-52 in a PSAC crossover contest Friday night.

Edinboro took a 38-22 halftime lead scoring 19 of those points off Mountaineer turnovers.

Mansfield cut the lead to 12 points early in the second half, but could pull no closer in falling to 4-6 on the season.

Tagliaferri just missed a double-double with eight rebounds and added two blocks and a steal. Jessica Pfeiffer scored 12 points while Rachel Rieder had 10 and eight rebounds.

Edinboro (5-2) placed four players in double figures led by Maria Divecchio with 16.

Mansfield held a 46-34 rebounding advantage, but turned the ball over 26 times.

Mansfield will travel to Clarion for an afternoon game on Saturday.
