FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: COLD SHOOTING MOUNTAINEER WOMEN FALL 86-38 AT CLARION

CLARION – The Mansfield University women’s basketball team managed to do little right in dropping an 86-38 decision to Clarion in a PSAC crossover game at Tippin Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers, because of a scheduling quirk in the PSAC crossover schedule, played last evening at Edinboro while Clarion had the night off, shot just 28.3% from the field for the game and hit on just 5-of-15 free throws while turning the ball over 31 times. They were also out rebounded 51-31.

Alison Tagliaferri and Stephanie Rieser each scored a team high eight points for Mansfield (4-7).

Heather Cignich led four Clarion players in double figures with 20 points while pulling down 19 rebounds.
