FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES ROLL 78-51 AT BRIDGEPORT PURPLE KNIGHT CLASSIC – RACHEL RIEDER SCORES GAME HIGH 17 POINTS TO EARN ALL-TOURNAMENT

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Rachel Rieder (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) scored a game high 17 points to lead three Mountaineers in double figures as Mansfield rolled to a 78-51 win over Bridgeport in the Bridgeport Purple Knight Classic Sunday evening.

Rieder also pulled down a game high seven rebounds and blocked a shot as the Mountaineers went out to a 30-20 halftime lead and increased the margin in the second half.

Jessica Pfeiffer (Erie/Seneca) scored 15 points connecting on 5-of-7 field goals including two 3-pointers and six rebounds. Alison Tagliaferri (Linden/Jersey Shore) hit all eight of her free throw attempts and scored 14 points.

The Mountaineers connected on 26-of-34 free throws and held a 42-33 rebounding advantage.

Rieder was named to the All-Tournament team.

Mansfield improves to 2-4 overall while Bridgeport fell to 1-1.
