FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY DEFEATS GREEN MOUNTAIN COLLEGE 83-54

MANSFIELD- Mansfield’s Alison Tagliaferri (Linden/Jersey Shore) led the way with a team high 14 points and six rebounds while Jessica Pfeiffer (Erie/Seneca) and Stephanie Rieser (Barnegat, NJ/ Southern Regional) each added 12 points in the Mountaineers 83-54 victory over Green Mountain College Thursday evening at Decker Gymnasium.

Mansfield dominated the game from start to finish as Tagliaferri scored 10 of her 14 points in the first half to lead Mansfield to a 45-26 halftime advantage. Christine Ross (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) scored all eight of her points in the first half.

In the second half of play Mansfield continued where they left off with Rieser scoring 10 of her 12 points in the second half.Every player on the roster for Mansfield scored in the game.

Green Mountain’s Tanya Delamater had a game high 21 points as Erica Raiche added 17 points for the Eagles.

With the win Mansfield improves to 7-8 on the season.The Mountaineers next home game is 1 p.m. Saturday at Decker Gymnasium when they host Slippery Rock University and then 1 p.m. Sunday Mansfield will play host to California University (Pa).
