FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD FALLS TO # 1 RANKED CALIFORNIA UNIVERSITY OF PA

MANSFIELD- Mansfield University fell to California University of Pa, the number one ranked team in the USA Today/Division II Coaches Poll, 105-40 Sunday afternoon at Decker Gymnasium for their final PSAC crossover match-up of the season.

The Vulcan’s offense mandated the momentum of the game during the first half, as California shot 76.7 percent from the field and a 54-24 halftime lead.

In the second half, California started where they left off, starting the second half on a 21-2 run to take a 79-26 lead. 

Mansfield’s Alison Tagliaferri (Linden/Jersey Shore) had a team high 12 points.

The Mountaineers will conclude their four game home stand, 5:30 p.m. Wed. when they play host to the Golden Bears of Kutztown for the first PSAC East match-up of the season.
