– Senior Jessica Pfeiffer scored a game high 19 points to lead four
Mountaineers in double figures as Mansfield
University beat Lock Haven
University
70-61 Tuesday night at Decker Gymnasium.
Mansfield
jumped out two a 7-0 run to start the game and held a 26-16 lead on a jumper by
Pfeiffer with

to play in the half. But Lock Haven would come right back with a 17-3 run to
take a 33-29 lead into intermission.
Mansfield
retook the lead five minutes into the second half on a jumper by Pfeiffer, but
both teams would battle with seven lead changes and five ties over the next
seven minutes. Danna Purnell hit a jumper at the 6:36 to give Mansfield a 56-54
lead and the Mountaineers held on for the win by hitting all eight of their free
throws over the final 2 ½ minutes of the game.
Pfeiffer game high 19 points included three 3-pointers with
Alison
Tagliaferri (Linden/Jersey Shore) adding 16 points with six rebounds and
four blocked shots. Stephanie
Reiser added 12 points and Danna
Purnell 11.
Amanda Jones had 14 points for Lock Haven with Melissa Picarsic adding 12.
Mansfield
improves to 1-3 overall while Lock Haven falls to 0-1.
