FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield women drop 67-56 decision to Lock Haven – Mallory Hafer tops four Mountaineers in double figures with 17 points

LOCK HAVEN – Mallory Hafer led four Mountaineers in double figures with 17 points but Mansfield could never overcome an early deficit in a 67-56 loss to Lock Haven in a PSAC crossover game at Thomas Fieldhouse Wednesday evening.

Mansfield was held scoreless over the first six minutes of the game until Mallory Moore’s cut the Lock Haven’s lead to 10-2 at the 13:57 mark of the first half. Lock Haven extended the lead to 31-16 at halftime.

Mansfield held a 41-35 rebounding advantage but turned the ball over 24 times and shot just 28% from the floor.

Hafer connected on five 3-pointers as part of her 17 points while Moore had 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Nicole Pender scored 12 points and dished out seven assists while sophomore Emma Lacey added a career best 11 points.

Casi Donelan scored a game-high 18 points and Krisetn Kudrick added 16 points to lead Lock Haven (3-2).

Mansfield falls to 2-3 and will host Mercyhurst on Monday in the Mountaineers first home game of the season.
