FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield women fall at Kutztown 72-44 – Mallory Moore scored season-high 21 points for Mansfield

KUTZTOWN – Sophomore Mallory Moore scored a game and season-high 21 points but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome a slow first half as Mansfield dropped a 72-44 decision at Kutztown Thursday night in a PSAC East game at Keystone Hall Thursday evening.

Kutztown used a 16-2 run to close out the first half taking what proved to be an unsurpassable 38-13 halftime advantage.

Mansfield made just 5-of-30 shots I the first half including missing all 10 3-pointers the Mountaineers attempted. Kutztown shot 46.7% from the floor in the first half while making 5-of-9 3-pointers.

Moore made half of Mansfield’s 16 field goals in the game and went 5-5 from the free throw line and recorded three steals. She how now connected on 32-of-33 free throw attempts (97.0%) over the last five games.

Emma Lacey was the Mountaineers next highest scorer with six points.

Melissa McQuade led Kutztown (15-6, 6-2 PSAC East) with 13 points while Rachel Wisemiller and Ashley Wood each scored 11 points.

Mansfield travels to Cheyney this Saturday.
