FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield women can’t overcome first half in 82-57 loss at West Chester

WEST CHESTER – Alicia Espigh scored 20 points but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome a large first half deficit as Mansfield fell 82-57 in a PSAC East contest at West Chester Saturday afternoon.

West Chester was red-hot in the first half shooting 65.5% from the floor in building a 44-20 halftime lead.

West Chester took 19 more shots than Mansfield and out rebounded the Mountaineers 37-25 including 17-9 on the offensive boards.

Espigh hit on 6-9 3-point attempts while Clarissa Correll scored 10 points and dished out six assists.

Dana Weemss topped four West Chester (17-8, 8-2) players in double figures with 21 points.

Mansfield travels to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday before ending the season at home against Bloomsburg this Saturday.
