Game Statistics

MANSFIELD – Clarissa Correll scored a career-high 26 points but it wouldn’t be enough as Mansfield dropped a 73-65 decision to Lock Haven University in a PSAC crossover game at Decker Gymnasium Tuesday evening.

Mansfield led early in the game, building a 16-11 lead on a layup by Correll seven minutes into the game. But Lock Haven held Mansfield without a field goal over the next five minutes and went on an 18-4 run to take a 29-20 led with five minutes to play in the first half.

A junior, Correll eclipsed her career-high in the first half alone scoring 17 of Mansfield’s 28 first half points.

After leading 38-28 at halftime, Lock Haven increased its lead to 51-37 on a pair of free throws by Malika Miller at the 14:13 before Mansfield went on a run of its own to pull to 55-51 on a 3-pointer by Brittany Reed six minutes later.

Lock Haven answered with a 11-2 run to go up 66-53 with 4:16 to play. Mansfield managed to twice cut the lead to seven points on a pair of 3-pointers by Alicia Espigh and closed to 70-65 on a pair of free throws by Correll in the last thirty seconds but could come no closer.

Correll had an overall outstanding game, hitting 6-11 from the field and 12-15 on free throws while also pulling down a team best seven rebounds while recording six steals and five assists. Espigh added 17 points while Brittany Reed scored 10.
