RELEASE DATE: 1/07/08 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Alicia Espigh named PSAC East Women’s Basketball Player of the Week MANSFIELD – Mansfield University standout Alicia Espigh (McVeytown/Lewistown) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division Player of the Week for her outstanding performance the week ending 1/06/08. The Player of the Week reporting span ran from Dec. 20 – Jan. 06 because of the Holiday break. In the five game span, Espigh averaged 14.6 points per game including a season high 22 points against Concord University (WV). She scored in double-figures in all five contests while connecting on 56..9% of her attempts from the floor including an impressive 48.4% (15-31) of her 3-point attempts. The junior shooting guard also pulled down 16 rebounds with three assists and two steals. For the season, Espigh leads the Mountaineers in scoring averaging 14.1 points per game. She tops the PSAC in 3-point field goals made per game (2.58), ranks fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (31-70, 44.3%) and is 11th in overall scoring.
