FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Alicia Espigh named to All-PSAC East honors

MANSFIELD  -- Mansfield University junior standout Alicia Espigh (Lewistown/Lewistown) has been selected to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division Second Team honors in voting conducted among the division head coaches and released today.

“A terrific honor for Alicia,” said head coach Ruth Hermansen. “Every coach in the conference considers her among the most dangerous shooters they face. She was the mainstay of our offense this year and we’re already looking forward to next season.”

Espigh led the Mountaineers in scoring and ranked 10th in the PSAC with a 14.0 points per game average. She also topped the PSAC in 63 3-point field goals this season and ranked sixth in the conference in free throw percentage (83.1).

Espigh started all 27 games for the Mountaineers this season after a injury forced her  to miss all but three games in 2006-07. Espigh scored in double-figures 21 times on the year including a career-high 27 points against Cheyney. She hit a conference-high six 3-pointers in three different games this year.

Espigh has scored 883 points over her first three seasons with school-record 149 3-pointers.
