FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Edinboro rallies past Mansfield women in second half –Clarissa Correll scores game high 19 points

EDINBORO – Clarissa Correll scored a game-high 19 points and Mansfield held a the lead at halftime but Edinboro rallied in the second half for a 69-57 win in a PSAC crossover game Saturday afternoon at Edinboro.

The game was tied at 16-16 late in the first half before a free throw by Kelli Eastman and a jumper by Tegan Atallah gave Mansfield a 19-16 advantage with 2:26 remaining before intermission and Mansfield took a 22-18 lead into halfime on a Eastman free throw with 21 seconds remaining.

The game remained close for much of the second half with Edinboro holding a 39-38 with ten minutes to play. Edinboro started to pull away on a 3-pointer by Janine McDonald for a 49-41 lead with just over eight minutes and the shorthanded Mountaineers could pull no closer.

Correll dished out six assists in addition to her 19 points. Eastman scored a career-high 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Mountaineers.

Kelsey Conklin and Janine McDonald each scored 18 points to lead Edinboro (8-4).

Mansfield travels to Slippery Rock on Sunday before opening the PSAC East season at Kutztown on Wednesday.
