FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield women fall to California 71-47

Game Statistics

MANSFIELD – Jeannette Meacham and Alicia Espigh each scored 10 points but Mansfield was unable to generate much offense in a 71-47 loss to California in a PSAC crossover contest Saturday afternoon in Decker Gymnasium.

Mansfield (4-8) trailed 21-14 ten minutes into the game on a Courtney Brooks layup but California went on a 22-2 run over the last 10 minutes of the first half to take a 43-16 halftime lead.

California (10-1) used a tenacious pressing defense to force 34 Mansfield turnovers.

Brooque Williams led California with a game-high 20 points while Kayla Smith recorded a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Mansfield will host Goldey-Beacom College on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
