FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Uhrich Named PSAC East Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN – Mansfield University senior standout Jessica Uhrich (Palmyra/Palmyra) was named PSAC East Women's Basketball Player of the Week today by the conference office for the week ending Sunday, December 3rd.

Uhrich, who has helped her team to a 4-1 start, recorded back to back double-doubles over the weekend to earn the honor.

She recorded 50 points and 26 rebounds over the two game weekend after a career high 27 point performance in a win over Clarion on Saturday and a 23 point performance in a close loss to IUP on Sunday.

Uhrich pulled down 16 rebounds in the Clarion win and 10 boards in the IUP game.

She currently has three consecutive double-double performances and is averaging 19.2 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game. She ranks third in the PSAC in scoring and fifth in rebounding.

This marks the first time of the 2006-07 winter season that a Mansfield Athlete has earned Player of the Week honors. Uhrich earned the honor twice last season.

Uhrich and the Mountaineer women are back in action on Thursday, December 14th at 7:00 pm when they host Post University at Decker Gymnasium in Mansfield.
