FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties Drop Heartbreaker in Final Minute at Lock Haven -- Uhrich Has Career Best Performance of 32 points and 14 Rebounds

LOCK HAVEN – Jessica Uhrich had a career high 32 points and 14 rebounds but it would not be enough as the Mountaineer women dropped a heartbreaker in the final minute at Lock Haven falling 68-63 in a game that featured 14 ties.

Lock Haven came out of the blocks with a 4-0 run before Uhrich put the Mounties on the board with a layup sparking an 8-0 run to take the lead 8-4 with just under 17:00 minutes to play. The lead would exchange hands throughout the half before Lock Haven took a 33-31 advantage into halftime.

The Mountaineers shot 36.4% from the field for the first half while the Lady Eagles were 35.1%.

Uhrich scored the first two baskets of the second half to put the Mountaineers back on top with 17:20 to play before Lock Haven tied it for the seventh time at 37-37 with 16:18 to play.

Neither team could break away as clock wore down to :58 seconds to play tied at 61-61. Mansfield took the lead 63-62 on a jumper by Uhrich with :47 seconds to go.

Over the final :45 seconds, Lock Haven would visit the free-throw line six times and convert on all six attempts to close the game on a 6-0 run to take a 68-63 victory.

Uhrich led all scoring with a game high 32 points and 14 rebounds, her fourth double-double of the season. Clarissa Correll had nine points while Mallory Hafer added six points.

Ilia Lopez led three players in double figures for Lock Haven with 17 points. Ginger Williams and Shameka Lee each added 14 points for the lady Eagles.

Mansfield was 40.7% from the floor for the contest while Lock Haven shot 35.8% from the field.

The lady Eagles held a slight rebounding advantage at 45-43.

The Mountaineers fall to 5-3 on the season after suffering their second straight loss while Lock Haven improves to 4-6.

Mansfield is back in action tomorrow, Wednesday, December 20th when they travel to Shippensburg for a 6:00 tipoff.
