FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jessica Uhrich Named PSAC East Co-Player of the Week – Junior Earns Honor School Record by Third Time This Season

Mansfield – Jessica Uhrich (Palmyra/Palmyra) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for her outstanding performance during the week ending 1/8/06.

Uhrich shared the honor with Dominique Lewis of West Chester. It marks a school record third time this season Uhrich has been named PSAC East Player of the Week.

In a three game span, Uhrich recorded three double-doubles averaging 13.7 points and an amazing 18.0 rebounds per game. In Sunday’s game against Lock Haven, Uhrich scored 17 points while pulling down a career best 24 rebounds – the second most in a game in school history. She also had six assists and three blocked shots in that game.

For the season, the 5-11 Uhrich ranks first in the PSAC in rebounding averaging 11.1 rebounds per game and ninth in scoring (14.3 ppg). She also ranks 11 in the conference in blocked shots.

It marks the fifth time in her career she has earned PSAC East Player of the Week honors trailing teammate Alison Tagliaferri’s school record six selections.
