Tagliaferri and Ulrich record double-doubles as Mansfield downs Goldey-Beacom

Del. – Alison Tagliaferri and Jessica
Ulrich both recorded double-doubles as the Mountaineers defeated Goldey-Beacom
58-49 on Friday.
The Mountaineers only led
by one point at halftime, but outscored the Lightning 38-30 in the second half
to seal the victory.
Tagliaferri’s double digit
effort marked her 20th straight game scoring double figures. She has
nailed 10 or more points in 53 of her last 54 games. She scored 18 points and
pulled down 15 rebounds in the game.
Mansfield junior Jessica
Ulrich was the second leading scorer with 12 points. She also pulled down 15
rebounds, including 12 defensive boards. Alicia Espigh and Courtney Brooks also
scored in double figures as they both recorded ten points for the Mountaineers.
Brooks also had three steals in 19 minutes of play.
The win evens Mansfield
record at 5-5 on the year. The Mountaineers will next host Indiana University of
Pennsylvania Jan. 7 at Decker Gym.
