FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JESSICA UHRICH NAMED PSAC EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MANSFIELD –  Jessica Uhrich (Palmyra/Palmyra) has been selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in the week ending 12/12/04.

A sophomore forward, Uhrich recorded her second double-double of the season with a game high 20 points and 13 rebounds in a key win over WVIAC foe Salem International last Saturday. She connected on 7-of-10 shots from the floor and 6-of-8 free throw attempts while dishing out four assists with two blocks and two steals.

For the season, Uhrich is averaging 9.6 points per game and ranks third in the PSAC in rebounding averaging 10.3 boards per game. She also ranks seventh in the PSAC in blocked shots (1.0 pg).

It marks the third time this season the Mountaineers have won PSAC East Player of the Week (Steph Rieser, Alison Tagliaferri).

Mansfield is off to one of the best starts in the programs’ history with a 5-2 record and are off until starting a five game road trip starting at California University on Dec. 21.
