FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTAINEER WOMEN’S BASKETBALL GAMES WITH UDC CANCELLED AFTER UDC DROPS MEN’S AND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University women’s basketball games at the University of the District of Columbia scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 4 at UDC and Feb. 27 at Mansfield will not be played after UDC cancelled it’s women’s and men’s basketball seasons because of violations committed by the two programs last year.

UDC made the announcement two days before the start of the 2004-05 season, but the Mountaineers were unable to find and schedule new opponents for the now open dates. Mansfield will now play a 25 game regular season.

The Mountaineers are currently 5-5 on the season and will travel to IUP and Lock Haven this Saturday and Sunday.
