FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: BIG SECOND HALF LIFTS MILLERSVILLE TO 68-53 WIN OVER MOUNTIES – TAGLIAFERRI SCORES 15

MILLERSVILLE – Millersville went on a 15-6 run over the final seven minutes of the game in posting a 68-53 win over Mansfield in a PSAC East contest at Pucillo Gymnasium Wednesday night.

The Mountaineers pushed Millersville to the limit in the first half, leading early and rallying from a 10-point deficit to trail just 32-31 at intermission behind Alison Tagliaferri’s 10 first half points.

Millersville used a tough defense to increase their lead to 53-42 with just under nine minutes to play before the Mountaineers would cut the score to 53-47 two minutes later on a three-pointer by Alicia Espigh.

Mansfield shot just 26.9% from the floor in the second half and 32% for the entire game while the Millersville defense forced 27 turnovers.

Tagliaferri finished the game with 15 points and seven rebounds with Espigh and Laura Scordino each adding eight points. Scordino also dished out seven assists.

Danielle Marshall scored a game high 20 points to lead Millersville.
