FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ROAD WOES CONTINUE FOR MOUNTIE WOMEN IN 70-57 SETBACK AT LOCK HAVEN – TAGLIAFERRI MOVES INTO 6^TH PLACE ON ALL-TIME SCORING LIST

LOCK HAVEN – The Mansfield University women’s basketball team’s road woes continued with a 70-57 setback to Lock Haven in a PSAC crossover game at Thomas Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon.

The Mountaineers, who lost their fifth straight road game, never got untracked offensively connecting on 35% of their shots in the first half in trailing 40-32 at intermission.

Mansfield managed to close the gap to 40-36 in the first minute of the second half, but was even colder from the floor over the final 19 minutes of the game hitting on just 27.6% of their shots.

Lock Haven connected on 30-of-43 free throws to Mansfield’s 11-of-21 shooting from the line. Lock Haven also held a 52-39 rebounding advantage.

Alison Tagliaferri scored 17 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. She moved past Lynelle Mosley (2000-03) into sixth place on the all-time scoring list with 1,113 points. Laura Scordino added 13 points while dishing out eight assists.

Allison Hall scored a game high 19 points for Lock Haven.

Mansfield falls to 5-7 on the season and will host Clarion on Saturday.
