ALISON TAGLIAFERRI RECORDED A DOUBLE-DOUBLE AND SCORED HER 1,000 CAREER POINT IN
THE MOUNTAINEERS 85-80 LOSS TO EDINBORO UNIVERSITY

Alison Tagliaferri
(Linden/Jersey Shore)
recorded a double-double and scored her 1,000th career point, but it
would not be enough as Edinboro rallied late in the second half for a 85-80 win
in PSAC cross-over action at Decker Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
In a very close game, with
19 different lead changes, the Fighting Scots pulled away in the final minutes
of the second half to secure the victory.
Laura Scordino
(Apalachin/ NY/Vestal) and Alison Tagliaferri each recorded a
double-double in the loss for the Mountaineers. Scordino scored 17 points and
had 10 assists while Tagliaferri scored 20 points and recorded 15 rebounds.
Only a junior, Tagliaferri became only the 10th woman player in
Mountaineer history to score 1,000 points.
Stephanie Rieser
(Barnegat,
NJ
/Southern Regional) and Alicia Espigh
(Lewistown/Lewistown)
were also in double figures scoring 14 points apiece.
Edinboro was led by Callie
Iorfido with 17 points.
Mansfield University falls
to 3-2 and will host Slippery Rock University Sunday December 5th at
1:00 p.m.
