FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MILLERSVILLE DEFEATS MANSFIELD 69-57 IN PSAC EAST ACTION -ALISON TAGLIAFERRI AND JESSICA UHRICH EACH RECORD DOUBLE-DOUBLE’S FOR THE MOUNTIES

MANSFIELD- Alison Tagliaferri and Jessica Uhrich each recorded a double-double, but it would not be enough as Millersville University defeated the Mountaineers 69-57 Wednesday evening at Decker Gymnasium. 

Mansfield controlled almost the entire first half, heading into the locker room with a 31-28 lead.  Tagliaferri was the only player in double figures in the first half with 10 of her game high 19 points.  The Mounties shot an impressive 92.3% from the free-throw line in the half. 

Millersville used their tenacious defense to regain the lead and take as much as a ten point lead with 8:04 left in the second half.  The Mountaineers would cut the lead to six on a made lay-up by Uhrich with 5:44 left in the contest. 

Mansfield shot 36.4% from the field in the game, while Millersville forced 24 Mansfield turnovers. 

Tagliaferri finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Uhrich recorded her fourth double-double in her last five games with 12 points and 13 rebounds. 

Millersville was led by Danielle Marshall who had 15 points. 

Mansfield will travel to PSAC East rival West Chester Saturday, February 12^th at 1:00 p.m.
