FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ALICIA ESPIGH NAMED PSAC EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – SECOND TIME FRESHMAN EARNS HONOR THIS SEASON

MANSFIELD – Mansfield University freshman Alicia Espigh (Lewistown/Lewistown) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Rookie of the Week for the week ending 1/16/05.

In Mansfield's only contest of the week, Espigh scored 18 points by hitting 5 of 10 shots from the floor and 8 of 9 from the free throw line against Clarion. She also added five rebounds and three steals.

Espigh has played in all 13 games for the Mountaineers this season, starting five of the last six contests. She is averaging 8.7 points per game and ranks first in the PSAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.457).

It marks the second time this season Espigh has captured Rookie of the Week honors.

The Mountaineers are currently 5-8 overall and open their PSAC East season at Millersville on Wednesday.
