FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD DROPS A 65-61 PSAC EAST MATCHUP TO EAST STROUDSBURG UNIVERSITY- JESSICA UHRICH HAS A DOUBLE-DOUBLE

MANSFIELD- Jessica Uhrich had a double-double with a game high 20 points and 11 rebounds, but it would not be enough as Mansfield University dropped a 65-61 PSAC East contest to East Stroudsburg University Wednesday night at Decker Gymnasium. 

Despite eight lead changes in the first half of play, the Mountaineers trailed 29-25 going into the locker room.  Alison Tagliaferri was the only player in the game in double figures at the half, with 11 of her game total 13 points. 

East Stroudsburg never trailed during the second half, leading by as much as 12 points with 12:58 left in the game.  Mansfield would bring the game within three points with 1:22 left in the game on two made foul shots by Stephanie Rieser, but the Mountaineers would fall just short as the Warriors would hold onto the lead as time expired.   

Laura Scordino was the third Mountaineer in double figures with 10 points and three assists. 

Niki Cox led East Stroudsburg with 19 points with Maryellen Onofre added 17 points.

Mansfield will be on the road visiting PSAC rival Cheyney on Saturday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m.
