FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield Athletics and Mansfield Area Kiwanis Club team up to help area food pantry – Free admission to Saturday’s PSAC East doubleheader with Cheyney with a non-perishable food item

MANSFIELD -- Mansfield University athletics has teamed up with the Mansfield Kiwanis Club to provide free admission to Saturday's PSAC East basketball doubleheader with Cheyney. Anyone bringing at least one non-perishable food item will be admitted to the games for free.

All food collected will be donated to the Mansfield Area Food Pantry.

It's always entertaining when the Mountaineers host Cheyney and this Saturday's games should prove no different. The MU men are currently 10-4 on the season and tied for first place in the PSAC East with a 1-0 mark after beating Shippensburg 67-53 on Wednesday. Cheyney is 7-6 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC East after beating Bloomsburg on Wednesday.

The MU women are 3-10 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC East after losing at Shippensburg on Wednesday. Cheyney is 3-9 overall and 0-1 after losing their PSAC East opener to Bloomsburg. The Mountaineers beat Cheyney in a thriller at Decker last season.

The women's game starts at 1 p.m. followed by the men's game at 3 p.m.
