Mansfield- The
Mansfield University women’s swim team defeated Kings College 124-39 this
afternoon at the pool at Decker Gymnasium behind a strong performance from
freshman Daniella
Borreilli (Vestal, Ny.)
Borreilli
finished first in the 50 yard freestyle event (26.56) and finished first in the
100 yard butterfly event (1:05.11).
Mansfield’s Charity
Learn (Troy) finished first in the 500 yard freestyle event with a time
of 6:22.04 and also finished 2nd in the 1000 yard freestyle
(12:33.53) behind teammate Eileen
Spellman (Wilkes-Barre) who finished first in the event with a time of
12:12.03.
Katie Houck
(Orefield/Parkland)
and Andrea Popovic (Novi
Sad
,Yugoslavia) had first place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle
event (2:12.58) and in the 200 yard IM (2:31.50) for Mansfield.
The Mountaineers next swim meet is this coming weekend at Indiana University of
PA for the IUP Invitational.
