peak yet and will continue to train and prepare for the conference meet which
will take them back to IUP in February.
The meet was also successful for the Mountaineer swim team
with many swimmers racing to their best times of
the season and for some even life time best. Senior co-captain Kelly
Coyle lead the charge for best swims in the 100 fly event when she
swam 1:09.88 which was a 10 second drop since the beginning of the season.

both 100 and 200 back where she swam 1:10.09 and 2:30.88 dropping both times
by two seconds and five seconds respectively. Senior Katie Houck's
qualifying time in the 200 free was an eight seconds drop since the beginning
of the season. Sophomore Andrea Popovic dropped six
seconds in her 500 free race to a season best time of 5:34.16, also swimming
the 500 free was teammate and training partner of Andrea's, freshman Eileen
Spellman who swam a life time best at 5:48.86. Sophomore
Melissa Recchiuti swam a life time best in the 100 free at
1:04.49. Sophomore Diana Daniel dropped seven seconds for
a season best in the 200 back at 2:34.62. Freshman Jill Netterman
dropped four seconds in the 200 yard breast to swim a 2:54.79 also dropping

swim a season best of 3:08.63.
The third goal of beating Edinboro was realized after the
final session and the scores were Mansfield 158 and Edinboro 112. This
makes for a good match coming up when the Mountaineer swimmers host Edinboro
and Kutztown on Saturday January 10.
