FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD DEFEATS EDINBORO UNIVERSITY IN TRI-MEET; FALL TO KUTZTOWN

MANSFIELD- The Mansfield University swim team defeated Edinboro University 56-39 in a Tri-meet Saturday night at Decker pool.

Edinboro University, Kutztown University, and Mansfield University took part in the tri-meet.

The Mountaineers had a strong swimming performance from freshmen Abbe Tipton (Elmira) who finished second in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 1:06.97, as well as finishing third in the 200-yard freestyle event with a time of 2:14.84.

Charity Learn (Troy) finished in second place in the 100-yard breast stroke event with a time of 1:22.51. Mansfield finished third in the 100-yard freestyle event behind Eileen Spellman (Wilkes-Barre) who finished with a time of 1:02.91.

Daniella Borrelli (Vestal) had a strong performance in the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:07.43 for a second place finish.

The Mountaineers next swim meet is 1 p.m. Saturday Jan. 17. as they host Millersville University.
