FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Millersville Defeats Women’s Swim Team in Season Opener

MILLERSVILLE – Millersville University defeated the Mansfield swim team Friday 147-39 in the Mountaineers’ season opener.

Christine Gillies, Cassie Griger, Sam Contino and Lindsey Gregg teamed up in the 200 yard freestyle relay to take the team’s only first place finish of the day with a time of 1:51.24.

Gillies also took second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.30 and took third in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.15.

Gregg also took second in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:42.79 and third in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:40.98.

Griger also took third in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:05.90. Taylor Zilinek took second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.30 and Liz Stanton took third in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:20.38.
