FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountaineer Swim Team Dunks Cabrini College and Juniata in Tri-Meet

RADNOR – Christine Gillies and Taylor Zilinek both captured three first place finishes in the tri-meet with Juniata College and Cabrini College Saturday at Cabrini.

Gillies took first place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (2:09.60), 100 yard freestyle (58.94) and teamed up with Cassie Griger, Sam Contino and Emily Staib in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:53.67).

Zilinek took first place in the 200 yard individual medley (2:28.51), 100 yard backstroke (1:06.53) and teamed up with Liz Stanton, Griger and Staib in the 200 yard medley relay (2:04.67).

Griger also claimed a first place finish for herself in the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.81).

Lindsey Gregg took a first place in the 500 yard freestyle (5:52.62) and a second place in the 1000 yard freestyle (12:08.50).

Megan Smickley took a second place finish in the 100 yard butterfly (1:07.65) and two third place finishes in the 500 yard freestyle (6:05.48) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:22.02).

Staib also took a second place finish in the 50 yard freestyle (27.73) and the 100 yard backstroke (1:10.90). Stanton also took a second place in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:20.38).

The Mountaineer swimmers travel to Lock Haven University for an 11 a.m. dual-meet on Saturday October 31^st.
