Release Date: 12/08/07 For Immediate Release: Maureen Maikner qualifies for PSAC's in 100 butterfly Millersville- Senior Maureen Maikner qualified for PSAC's in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:03.15 at Millersville on Saturday afternoon. Maikner took first place in the race. "I've waited four years for this," Maikner said. Maikner also finished in second place in the 200 breaststroke and will now look to qualify for PSAC's in that event. "We are all very excited for her," head coach Danita Fox said. "Maureen is one of the hardest working swimmers I've had in a long time, she has persevered and it is a sweet victory that she accomplished this goal." "It was also great to see the team rally behind her so much," Fox said. "This team really gets along and is happy for one another." Freshman Megan Smickley swam her best times in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke while Maggie Stengel finished with her best time in the 200 IM. |
