FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountie Swimmers Fall 114-69 at Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg, PA – The Mansfield University women’s swim team competed in a dual meet with Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon, falling 114-69.

Mansfield was led by first place finishers Abbe Tipton in the 200 yard backstroke, Mary Tucker in the 500 yard freestyle, and Maureen Maikner in the 200 yard breaststroke, along with the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Tucker, Tamar Maloney, Sarah Koontz, and Amanda Oechler.

Tricia Learn, who had competed earlier in the PSAC Cross Country Championships, earned a second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. Samantha Kutskel finished second in the 200 yard breaststroke.

Tucker also finished third in the 100 yard freestyle with Maloney finishing third in the 200 yard freestyle and Tipton finishing third in the 200 yard IM.

The 200 yard medley relay team of Tipton, Ochler, Maikner, and Maloney finished second place.

The Mountaineer swimmers are back in action tomorrow, Sunday October, 29th, when they travel to Millersville University.
