RELEASE DATE: 1/08/05 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIE SWIMMERS DROP TRI-MEET TO KUTZTOWN AND EDINBORO – TIPTON HAS THREE SECOND PLACE FINISHES
KUTZTOWN – Abbie Tipton (Elmira,NY/EFA) had three second place finishes to lead Mansfield in a PSAC Tri-meet with Kutztown and Edinboro at Kutztown Saturday afternoon. Mansfield fell to Kutztown 74-21 and were edged 57-38 by Edinboro. Tipton was second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:24.53 while also finishing runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.43. She also swam lead in the 200 yard medley relay with Stephanie Klegarth, Danielle Borelli and Andrea Popovic that finished second with a time of 1:58.65 Freshman Stephanie Klegarth was second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.24. Maureen Maikner was third in the 100 butterfly (1:08.11) with Vanessa McElwee taking third in the 100 free (59.53).
