FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD TAKES ONE FROM WELLS COLLEGE 106-73

MANSFIELD- Mansfield University had six first place finishes Monday evening to help defeat Wells College 106-73 on the Mountaineers Senior Day at the Decker Gymnasium Pool. 

“It was our senior meet and Kelsey Hogan has been a very solid team member for our program and she will be greatly missed,” said Head Coach Danita Fox.  Hogan finished her impressive swimming career at Mansfield with a second place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:11.03). 

The first place finishers for the Mountaineers were: Maureen Maikner in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle (12:00.93), Andrea Popovic in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:11.50), Daniella Borrelli in the 50 Yard Freestyle (26.92), Stephanie Klegarth in the 400 Yard IM (5:15.65), Vanessa McElwee in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:05.32), and Melissa Recchiuti in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:19.45). 

The Mounties 200 Yard Medley Relay took a first place finish with a time of 2:00.12.  Members of the relay were: Klegarth, Borrelli, Maikner, and Abbe Tipton. 

Mansfield had eight second place finishers at the meet: Kristine Van Duzer in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle (12:36.97) and the 500 Yard Freestyle (6:06.67), Emily Sheehan in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:27.76) and in the 100 Yard Freestyle (1:06.88), McElwee in the 50 Yard Freestyle (27.21), Charity Learn in the 400 Yard IM (5:28.35), Recchiuti in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:13.43), and Hogan in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:11.03). 

Mansfield will travel to East Stroudsburg University January 29^th at 1:00 p.m.
