FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-  MOUNTIE SWIMMING FALLS TO BLOOMSBURG 138-98.

MANSFIELD, PA- Andrea Popovic won the 500 free and Daniella Borrelli won the 100 free, but it would not be enough as Mansfield fell to Bloomsburg 138-98 in PSAC swimming at Decker Pool Saturday afternoon.  

The Mounties were lead by Andrea Popovic (Novi Sad, Yugoslavia) who won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:44.00 and the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:33.06.

Daniella Borrelli (Vestal, NY, Vestal)  won the 100 yard freestyle with the time of 1:06.80, the 400 yard freestyle relay of ABBE TIPTON (Elmira, NY, EFA), MAUREEN MAIKNER (Zionsville, Emmaus), KELSEY HOGAN (Waverly, NY, Waverly) and Daniella Borelli took home the winning time of 4:10.10. 

STEPHANIE KLEGARTH (Allentown, Dieruff) also turned in a first place finish in the 200 yard breast stroke.  Taking second place was MELISSA RECCHIUTI (West Chester/Henderson) with a time of 3:03.11.

In the 200 yard Individual medley Andrea Popovic took first timing in at 2:33.06, Stephanie Klegarth finished second with a time of 2:35.43 and Melissa Recchiuti took third place with a time of 2:48.14.

Also taking second place finishes were KRISTINE VAN DUZER (Milford, PA) in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:06.61, Maureen Maikner in the 100 yard butterfly.  In the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Kristine Van Duzer, DIANA DANIEL (Rochester, NY, Brighton), Vanessa McElwee (Souderton, Souderton) and Melissa Recchiuti with a time of 4:25.71.

The 200 yard medley relay of Tipton, Klegarth, Borrelli and Popovic finished third timing in at 2:01.31.  Also taking a third place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke was Maureen Maikner with a time of 1:18.40 and in the 50 yard freestyle Daniella Borrelli took home third place as well with a time of 27.49.

The Mounties next meet is at Lock Haven University on November 6^th at 1 pm.
