FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Football wraps up intensive Labor Day Weekend with scrimmage
MANSFIELD -- The Mansfield University sprint football team wrapped up an intensive three-day practice schedule with an intra-squad scrimmage Monday afternoon on the Ed Russell practice field.
There were plenty of players, running and throwing touchdowns, sacks, fumbles and interceptions as the offense and defense put themselves through the paces.
The once constant was the popping of pads with more that 70 players trying to earn the 65 roster spots allowed by the CSFL prior to the first game of the season when the Mountaineers host Princeton on Sept. 19.
Quarterbacks Danny Moss, Kobe Plank and Sean Kinney took the majority of snaps by everyone on the roster got a chance to showcase their skills before the coaching staff.
Almost everyone in attendance agreed the Mountaineers are already a more deeper and more skilled team than last season.
Almost everyone of the roster has already meet the weight and water hydro test required before players can participate in practice.
