FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SOFTBALL DROPS TWO TO SHIPPENSBURG

SHIPPENSBURG – The Mansfield University softball team dropped a PSAC East doubleheader 11-1, 9-1 at Shippensburg University Thursday afternoon.

Shippensburg scored 11 runs in the first inning of the opener and the Mountaineers could never recover. Alison Tagliaferri (Linden/Jersey Shore) came in relief in the first inning and and give up just three hits with no runs in 3.2 innings pitched. She also went two for three with a double and RBI.

Shippensburg scored six runs in the bottom of the first in the nightcap.
