FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JACKLYN LASKOWSKI, JES RICKER AND
NANCY QUINN NAMED TO NCAA DIVISION II MID-ATLANTIC ALL-REGIONAL HONORS
MANSFIELD – Mansfield University softball standouts Jacklyn
Laskowski (Olyphant/Mid Valley), Jes Ricker (Shillington/Governor
Mifflin) and Nancy Quinn (Merritt Island, FL/Merritt Island)
have been named to NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic All-Regional honors by the
National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
This
season, Ricker was fifth in the PSAC in batting (.380), second in
on-base percentage (.485) and fourth in slugging percentage (.639). In 108
at-bats, Ricker rapped out 41 hits including 10 doubles and five home runs. The
leadoff hitter, Ricker drove in 17 runs while scoring 26 times. In addition, she
ranked first in the PSAC in hit-by-pitch (9) and in sacrifice bunts (12). Ricker
ranked in the top ten in the PSAC in nine different categories while starting
ever game at third base.
A sophomore first baseman, Laskowski shattered
the school record with a conference leading nine home runs during the season. In
addition she ranked first in the PSAC in slugging percentage (.696) and first in
RBI’s per game (1.06). In 102 at-bats, Laskowski belted out 31 hits including
four doubles, a triple and nine home runs for a .304 batting average.
A
freshman, Quinn earned All-PSAC honors as designated player. She
was third the team in hitting with a .370 batting average. In 73 at-bats, Quinn
rapped out 27 hits including a double and home run. She drove in 13 runs.
All three are now eligible for voting for NCAA II
All-American honors.
The Mountaineers finished the season with a 20-18 overall
record and runner-up in the ECAC Division II Championship Tournament.
