RELEASE DATE: 4/12/10 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jen Stein named PSAC Central Co-Player of the Week – senior bats .692 in 2-2 week for Mounties MANSFIELD – Mansfield University standout Jen Stein (Williamsport/Williamsport) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division Co-Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in the week ending 4/11/10. She shared the honor with Bloomsburg’s Sam Pientack. Stein helped Mansfield go 2-2 in four games last week, including the first two conference wins of the year for the Mountaineers. She hit .692 (9-for-13) with a home run, seven runs scored and six RBI. Stein compiled a .923 slugging percentage and a .733 on-base percentage for a 1.656 OPS. In a 16-8 win over Clarion, Stein went 2-for-3 with two RBI. In the Mounties' other win of the week, a 7-6 win at home over Lock Haven, she also went 2-for-3 with an RBI. On the season Stein is batting .467 with 28 hits in 60 at-bats including six doubles, a triple and two home runs. She has driven in 21 runs while scoring 15 times. Mansfield is 11-11 on the season and 2-8 in the PSAC Central. The Mountaineers travel to Bloomsburg for a PSAC Central doubleheader on Tuesday.
