TRICIA BAILEY NAMED TO FIRST TEAM ALL-PSAC SOFTBALL TEAM – HEATHER LONG, NANCY
QUINN AND SYTIVA SEITZ EARN SECOND TEAM HONORS
MANSFIELD -- Tricia
Bailey (Canton/Canton) was named to First Team All-PSAC East honors
while teammates Heather Long (Pottstown/Pottsgrove), Nancy
Quinn (Merritt Island, FL/Merritt Island) and Sytiva Seitz
(Dallastown/Dallastown) were named to the Second Team honors when the
PSAC announced its 2005 Softball Awards this afternoon.
Bailey
was selected at third base where she started 35 games for the Mountaineers this
season. In 103 at-bats, the junior rapped out 35 hits for a .340 batting average
including nine doubles, two triples and a home run. She also drove in 21 runs
while scoring 24 times.
Long
finished her distinguished career as an outfielder where she was the only
Mountaineer to start all 38 games this season. Long led the team, and ranked 13th
in the PSAC in batting with a .384 average. In 99 at-bats this season, she had a
team best 38 hits including 13 doubles, two triples and three home runs. She
accounted for a team best 25 RBI’s while scoring 28 times.
Quinn
earned her third straight selection as the designated player. In 36 games this
season, Quinn had 33 hits in 96 at-bats for a .344 average. The senior had seven
doubles and a triple while driving in 20 runs.
Seitz
earned her first All-PSAC East award at
utility
player, splitting her time between catching and centerfield. In 33 games, Seitz
batted .327 with her 34 hits including six doubles and a team best seven home
runs. The junior had 21 RBI’s while scoring 24 times.
