FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIE SOFTBALL SLATE WIPED OUT FOR WEEKEND – RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University softball team spent the day literally shoveling the snow off Lutes Field, but there valiant efforts would not be enough to save their home opener scheduled for this Saturday with Bloomsburg.

Wednesday’s surprisingly strong late season storm played havoc throughout the state. Mansfield received around seven inches of snow.

Mansfield’s PSAC opener at East Stroudsburg has also been postponed by snow in the Pocono’s and will be rescheduled for Monday at 2 p.m.

The Mountaineers doubleheader with Bloomsburg on Saturday is tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon at Helen Lutes Field starting at 2 p.m.

Mansfield is eager to get the PSAC season underway. The Mountaineers are 13-1 overall, the best start in the programs history.
