FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield Men Play NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure Tough in 82-74 Loss
OLEAN - Yuseff Carr had a double-double to lead five Mansfield players in double points but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure in a 82-74 exhibition loss on Bob Lanier Court at the Reilly Center Friday night. “It wasn’t our best but we didn’t play half bad” said head coach Rich Miller. “We really did a good job on the boards especially against a bigger Division I team.” Carr, who was questionable to play in the game because of illness earlier in the week, scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half as Mansfield never quit in the game despite getting in early foul trouble. Carr also pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds. Justin Simmons, Chris Pender and Ryan Callahan scored 12 points each with Tony Fannick adding 11. Andrew Nicholson, the A-10 Freshman of the Year last season, led St. Bonnies with a game-high 29 points. Mansfield opens the regular season next Sunday, Nov. 15 when the Mountaineers host Bowie State.
