FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Yuseff Carr named to 1^st Team All-PSAC East honors – Ryan Callahan earns 2^nd Team honors

MANSFIELD – Mansfield’s Yuseff Carr (New York City, East NY Transit Tech) was named to 1^st Team All-PSAC East honors and teammate Ryan Callahan (Contoocook,NH/Taft Institute) was named to 2^nd Team All-PSAC East for their outstanding performances during the 2009-10 men’s basketball season.

The All-PSAC East selections were based on voting among the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division head coaches and released by the conference office today.

Carr, who was a 2^nd Team All-PSAC East selection as a sophomore last season, was one of the most dominate players in the PSAC this year. Carr ranked sixth in the conference in both scoring (16.9 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rpg). He also ranked ninth in the PSAC in blocked shots (39) and 12^th in field goal percentage (54.5%).

Callahan was 10^th in the PSAC in scoring averaging 15.9 points per game. The senior guard also ranked 8^th in the conference in free throw percentage (77.2%), ninth in assists (3.4 apg), 11^th in 3-point field goal percentage (36.8%) and 13^th in assist-to-turnover ratio (0.9).

Both Carr, a junior, and Callahan reached the 1,000 point milestone this season. Carr now has 1,056 career points while Callahan ended his Mansfield career with 1,095 points.

Mansfield won the PSAC East championship this season with a 10-4 conference mark and finished 19-9 overall.
