RELEASE DATE: 2/09/09 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: First place up for grabs in Wednesday Mansfield – Kutztown game MANSFIELD – Something has got to give when the two hottest teams in the PSAC East meet in Decker Gymnasium on Wednesday night. The second-place Mansfield University Mountaineers will host first-place Kutztown in the game of the year so far starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. MU students are free with ID Mansfield has been on fire of late extending a season long winning streak to five games after a 64-62 win at Shippensburg on Saturday. Kutztown has a seven-game win streak and is a game in front of Mansfield and Cheyney in the PSAC East. Mansfield host Cheyney on Saturday. Kutztown is 18-3 overall and 7-1 in the PSAC East after beating East Stroudsburg on Saturday. The Golden Bears have the conference top offense (87.5 ppg) and top the PSAC in field goal and 3-point shooting. Kutztown won the first meeting between the two teams 85-69 at Kutztown last month. Mansfield ranks sixth in the PSAC in scoring (75.7 ppg) and the Mountaineers are the top free throw shooting team in the conference. Mansfield is 8-1 at Decker Gymnasium losing only to nationally ranked Gannon while all three Kutztown losses have come on the road. Kutztown has two of the top scorers in the PSAC in Dave Ben (22.4 ppg) and Stephen Dennis (20.2 ppg) while Mansfield is led by Yuseff Carr (16.2) who ranks ninth in the conference in scoring and Ryan Callahan (14.2 ppg) who ranks 19th.
