MANSFIELD – Seniors John Hampton, Kevin Hill, Brandon Lawley and Armen Henderson combined for 53 points in their last regular season game at Decker Gymnasium to lead Mansfield to a 98-67 win over Bloomsburg Saturday afternoon.

Mansfield never trailed in the game and jumped out to a 7-0 lead on a Hampton layup four minutes into the game.

The Mountaineers increased the lead to as many as 18 points on a pair of free throws by Lawley with 1:18 before intermission before setting for a 43-30 lead at halftime.

Mansfield continued its torrid pace in the second half going on a 18-6 run over the first six minutes of the half to take a 61-36 lead on a 3-pointer by Chris Pender at the 13:47 mark.

The Mountaineers took their biggest lead late in the game on a 3-pointer by Lavail Owens for a 93-56 advantage with 3:55 to play.

Mansfield shot a season best 55.4% from the floor including 61.8 % in the second half.

The Mountaineers, who missed the PSAC playoffs in a disappointing loss at East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, finished the regular season with a 17-10 record, the programs’ most wins since posting an 18-11 mark in 2005.

Before a large Senior Day crowd, Hampton was unstoppable connecting on 8-9 from the floor to score a team-high 19 points. Hill added 17 points while Lawley recorded his seventh double-double of the season, and third in the last three games, with 10 points and a career-best 14 rebounds. Freshman Yuseff Carr also scored 10 points and Henderson seven.

Nick Jones led Bloomsburg (8-19, 0-12) with a game-high 28 points.
